The Anonymous Bookaholics Tag

Hey everyone, how’s it going? Hope you’re doing well. A while ago I was tagged by Riddhi from Whispering Stories to do this tag and I’m finally getting to answering those questions for todays post. Let’s get to it!

What do you like about buying new books?

Buying stuff I like makes me happy and books make me happy so buying books makes me happy! I love just seeing a stack of new books and potential for stories I’ll love.

How often do you buy books?

Not that often. I do subscribe to two book boxes so I get one new book a month from The Book Resort and a new book every 3 months from Novel Ideas but for going out and buying books, I’d say it’s not that often but when I do I buy many.

Bookstore or online book shopping: which do you prefer?

Oh, I definitely prefer bookstores to online book shopping. Yes, I buy books online when I need to or I can’t get the book from my local stores but I love the act of browsing a bookshop in person.

Do you have a favourite bookshop?

I’d say O’Mahony’s which is an independent bookstore here in Limerick. Any time I’m in town I go to it and if I want to buy a book without leaving my house, I check if I can buy it online from them first.

Do you pre-order books?

No, can’t say that I do. I rarely actually know when books are coming out and usually by the time I start a series most of the books are already out so I usually don’t have to think about pre-ordering. And even if I did pre-order a book, I’d probably still not get to reading it when I got it!

Do you have a monthly buying limit?

No, I do not but probably should. I either spend very little or too much every month.

How big is your wishlist?

I have a lot of books on my TBR but not actually a whole lot on my wishlist. To me, they’re two different things. There’s a lot of books I’d like to read someday but that I don’t feel like I need to own.

Which three books from your wishlist do you wish to own right now?

  • The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune
  • Six of Crows (collectors edition) by Leigh Bardugo
  • Legend Of Zelda, Breath Of The Wild – Creating A Champion

So I hope you enjoyed reading my answers to those questions. Bit of a shorter post today and not very well formatted but I’m a bit on the tired side as I write this so hopefully I still managed to say something interesting! I’d love to hear your answers to some of these questions in the comments below.

    1. Gotta support the local business – I always pop into the bookstores when I need to pass some time waiting for people or when I need a moment of quiet if I’m feeling a bit anxious when I’m out. Especially O’mahony’s – it’s spread out over several floors so there’s always a quiet nook to browse once you get past the bestsellers at the entrance.

      1. I love small book stores that pack a lot in to a tiny space but yeah, sometimes you just want to get lost in a store and not be bothered by staff or other customers. Wish I had a really big craft store to relax in too but all the art and crafts stores here are quite small and pokey.
